Our Future Choice sponsors and partners
|
The Future Choices events are based on one of our most popular workshops - Future Choices. (We like to stick with a theme at IBY)!
We work with participants to explore their ideas and goals for the future, and then we help them develop a plan to achieve them. These events are like no other careers based events you've come across before - each one is painstakingly planned to ensure that our audience get the information they want and need. We work with industry experts and insiders to ensure that our Future Choices events are unique, thoughtful and provide hints and tips to help attendees get the jobs and experience they want. |
These events are always really popular and places go really fast, so book quickly. The first Future Choices event we held was in collaboration with Microsoft - it was designed to help people get into the Tech industry. Microsoft interns and apprentices shared their experiences and we a great panel discussion with people from Rinse FM, Latimer Group, XBOX and Live Mag. 55 people attended and we had 72 on the waiting list, so we mean it when we say book quickly!

Nina Fine is a 'soul singer songwriter with a jazz infused twist'. She came to the first Future Choices event on music and when we found out what she gained from the event a few months later we asked her to share her experience!
"London is a huge city, especially when you have just returned from university and are starting out
again. Scrolling through my emails, by pure chance, I came across Incredible Brilliant Youth’s Future Choices event for
the music industry. From the bio it looked interesting, and like anyone starting out I asked myself -
what is there to lose? Arriving at the House of Vans, from start to finish, the event was engaging,
informative and inspiring, with panellists ranging in skills from performance, management, media representation, and composition and conducting, the event was a safe space to learn and listen. Each person was real about their highs and lows throughout their careers, something that is so beneficial to hear. Even now I hear certain phrases pop up again that keep me level headed, so once again, thank you panellists!
The journey does not stop there! Not only did I learn invaluable information from the event, from speaking to SHAN, one of the panellists, I am now writing for Jazz Standard magazine, founded by Tina Edwards, and engaging with the music I love! Putting yourself in spaces to meet people and talk about music can be daunting, but it is also exhilarating and SO EXCITING! You never know what can happen...
To be able to access such a great opportunity is pretty great. More importantly, it offers support in a way that not everyone can access at home or other places. At a time when cuts to art funding is treated as inevitable, these opportunities are even more important."
